Professional Services

Implementation is where technology decisions become working systems.

David Koran & Associates provides onsite implementation and professional services for technology companies and their customers: discovery, implementation, integration, data migration, configuration, testing, training, and go-live support for business, manufacturing, AI, and operational systems. The work is delivered by one senior consultant who travels to the customer facility, throughout the United States and internationally.

The Services

What clients retain the practice to do.

Every service below is delivered hands on, in the environment where the system has to run. Most projects combine several of them, and the scope is set by the system, the customer, and the state of the deployment rather than by a fixed package.

01

Software Implementation

Installing, configuring, and standing up business and manufacturing software in the customer environment, from initial system setup through a working production configuration the customer's team can operate.

02

Systems Integration

Connecting the new system to the systems around it: ERP to MES, quality systems to production data, AI tools to business workflows, and the interfaces, APIs, and data flows that make separate products behave as one operation.

03

Data Migration

Moving master data, transactional history, documents, and records from legacy systems into the new platform, with the validation and reconciliation that determine whether the customer trusts the new system on day one.

04

Workflow Configuration

Mapping how the customer actually works and configuring the system to match: approval chains, production routings, quality workflows, document flows, and the exceptions that generic configurations miss.

05

Technical Discovery

Onsite discovery before or during a deployment: the customer's environment, data, infrastructure, integrations, constraints, and the gap between what was sold and what the site actually needs. Findings are reported in writing to the vendor and the customer.

06

User Acceptance Testing

Structuring and running UAT with the customer's own people, scenarios, and data, so acceptance reflects the real operation rather than a scripted demonstration, and so open items are documented and owned before go-live.

07

Go-Live Support

Being in the building when the system goes live: cutover execution, first-days floor support, issue triage, escalation to the vendor's engineering team, and the steady presence that keeps a go-live from becoming a crisis.

08

Training

Training operators, administrators, and management on the systems they have to run, delivered in person at the facility, matched to how each audience will actually use the system rather than read from a generic curriculum.

09

Post-Implementation Optimization

Returning after the system is live to tune configurations, close workarounds, extend the deployment to new lines or sites, and turn a functioning installation into one the customer would recommend.

Who the Practice Serves

Three kinds of clients retain this practice.

The common requirement is the same: an experienced senior person who can represent the project professionally at the customer's facility, work with plant managers and quality teams as comfortably as with engineers, and get the system implemented.

Technology Manufacturers

Software and technology vendors

Vendors whose sales organizations create more implementation demand than their delivery teams can efficiently staff. The practice extends delivery capacity for customer deployments without adding headcount, including travel-heavy and multi-site work.

Implementation Partners

Consultancies and implementation firms

Firms that use independent senior consultants for overflow, specialized customer situations, extended onsite assignments, or deployments that need one accountable person on the ground rather than a rotating bench.

Operating Companies

Manufacturers and businesses deploying technology

Companies implementing a new system who want an experienced independent advocate on their side of the table: someone who has done this before, speaks the vendor's language, and works for the customer's outcome.

For international technology companies: the practice can provide your United States customers with experienced onsite implementation support without requiring you to build a full US field-services organization. See Global Field Services.
How the Work Is Structured

Discovery, implementation, stabilization.

01 Discovery and Planning

Confirm objectives with the vendor and the customer, review the environment and data, identify integrations and constraints, define scope and sequence, and plan the onsite work. Discovery findings are documented so everyone starts from the same facts.

02 Onsite Implementation

Install, configure, integrate, migrate, and test in the customer environment, working with the customer's team and the vendor's engineers. Progress, decisions, and open items are reported in writing throughout, so nothing depends on memory or hallway conversations.

03 Go-Live and Stabilization

Run acceptance testing, train the people who will operate the system, support the cutover onsite, and stay through stabilization. The project ends when the customer runs the system without the consultant, not when the software is installed.

04 Multi-Site Rollout

Where the deployment covers multiple facilities, the first site becomes the template: configuration standards, training materials, and a rollout sequence that gets faster and cheaper with each site. See Global Field Services for multi-site and international work.

One senior consultant, accountable end to end. Not a rotating team, not a junior bench billed under a senior name, and not a remote help desk. The person the vendor briefs is the person who walks the customer's floor, and the person who walks the floor is the person who writes the report.
